The most anticipated volleyball game of the week, Alexander versus Cigarroa, lived up to all the hype as both teams battled to the end in a packed house at the Cigarroa gymnasium on Saturday afternoon.
Alexander needed five games to come from behind and hand Cigarroa its first loss in district, 25-19, 20-25, 21-25, 25-20 and 15-4.
Alexander (4-1 29-5A, 14-4) moves into a tie with Cigarroa and United for second place with three games left in the first round of district play, while Eagle Pass is in first with a 5-0 record.
